So PES 2013 has been released over a month earlier than normal and I got my hands on a copy last Thursday - the day before official release - gotta love Shopto!
Since then I've had a chance to play a few games, no as many as I'd like, but still enough to get a strong flavour for the new components of the game. And okay yes, PES is back with many of the previous frustrations, but we PES fans expect a lack of licences, dull commentary and the computer outplaying you for the first few days, even on normal setting.
But the new features do make a difference.
Many of which I didn't even use until I did the training today. I usually skip these parts of the game and just get stuck in, but the training really helps to understand the new delicate skills, like the new trapping system, nutmeg, runaround and sombrero flicks.
Best of all about PES 2013 is the way it forces you to change the way you've previously played. There is now real merit in using R2 to hold the ball and pick perfect passes, move the ball quickly and vary your style of play. Draw the computer out and it the space behind the lines.
I'm not sure how the games will fare against other players or online, but the computer games are more fun than PES has been in a while.
Some of the goals I've scored most recently now that I'm getting to grips with it could definitely be described as sexy football!
Let me know your thoughts on the game if you've got it already or if you haven't and you want to ask questions, feel free.

PES 2013 Video - On The Pitch
Start of the new English Football season yesterday!
Now we're back on footy after the Olympics, it will only seem a matter of time before PES 2013 is with us and I'm looking for some changes in English football like I am from PES this autumn, because the manner in which the Olympics showcased sport for what it can be (certain badminton players aside) - hard work, fairness, sacrifice and endeavour, makes you wonder if certain players will still dive, cheat, moan, suck their thumbs after scoring etc now the football season is underway.
Course they will.
Can PES 2013 regain some of what was lost years ago. I had a quick blast on PES 2012 yesterday and after just 2 games lost interest. The computer seemed to be in 'cheat mode' again, stopping me clearing my lines, making my manual passes go astray etc :( , and I just thought, "Please Seabass, show me the way this autumn!". Breath not being held due to previous experience of Konami launch days.
This video shows what looks like improvement, but the proof will be in the playing of the final version, the demo didn't really tell enough, as you'd expect.
Anyway, another poor start by the Rams yesterday, 2-2 against the Owls.
Looking forward to seeing the superb Championship patch brought out by the PES fans, especially Glen The Magpie et al.

PES 2013 Demo
Downloaded the PES 2013 Demo on PSN the other day and so far have only had the chance to play a couple of games, but my first impressions are quietly optimistic.
Apart from the Germans equalising in the last minute!
The gameplay doesn't seem massively different from PES 2012, but maybe a bit quicker, sharper. I've not really had a chance to fully dissect the demo yet and you can only get so much from a demo anyway, as Konami like to point out - it doesn't necessarily represent the final game fully.
The passing seemed more accurate and the tackling definitely seemed better, collisions looked more realistic and the goalies made smarter saves. A few new animations for the goalies looked good. You are however playing with the top teams and players, it will be interesting to see how it stacks up when you're playing in the master league with an average team.
Found this vid on Youtube, bit long, but you get a quick feel for it...
To the other pes fans out there;
Have you played it yet and what are your thoughts?

Hi Guys, Welcome to PES 2013 Blog!
I have set up this blog to accompany my website www.pes2013.org.uk, a place where all Pro Evo fans can come together to discuss the upcoming game PES 2013 and the previous incarnations of the popular series.
My website is designed to be a source of information for PES 2013 and going forward, future versions, whereas I want this blog to be the place where I can discuss developments in the series with other fans and bitch about parts of the game we don't like!
I know there are a wealth of other PES forums already online and I check out Pesfan regularly, but I want to make this something much more informal. Simply Pro Evo fans talking about Pro Evo and other things if you need to get something off your chest!
Feel free to post comments, suggestions and 'constructive' criticisms about this blog or the website. These are my first attempts, so I'm sure I'll make mistakes.
I want to build the website into a point of authority for PES games, but this will clearly take time. i'll update and check these sites as much as I can in my spare time, so happy posting :)

Ps. yep, I'm a Rams fan!
